Strange on the Range: Zine collects the wild and weird comic art and illustration of Wyoming in an annual, print-only indie magazine. Established in 2024 by artist Ella Bishop-Heil, its two issues have published more than 100 pieces of original artwork and is lauded as "Wyoming's premier comics project".
Strange on the Range is crafted cover-to-cover entirely in Casper, Wyoming by Ella. Designed intentionally as a physical publication and a celebration of analog media, Strange is printed on high quality, oversized, full-color satin pages and is distributed nationally.

Ella Bishop-Heil is a self-taught multidisciplinary visual artist. She is a published cover artist with paintings in permanent museum collections. She creates eldritch-slasher horror comic Hyperbole, and is lead cartoonist for Oil City News‘ weekly print newspaper. Ella is the creator-editor of Strange on the Range: Zine, an annual print publication dedicated to Wyoming comic artists and illustrators. Prior to the arts, Ella pursued a near-decade long STEM career and has a Bachelor of Science in Ecology from the University of Wyoming. Based in Casper, WY.
